It was late afternoon as Ryu crested the hill on the road and got his first look at South Town. It had been a while since he had been here, but he knew that worthy opponents could be found here. Still... something was off, though he couldn't quite place it. Whatever it was, Ryu hoped that it would be relatively minor...

Noon. Perfect time to wander through the preserve on the outskirts of the area, not too dark. Meaning she wouldn't have to worry.

A small smile crossed over Mai's lips, taking to a tree and taking a higher route through it. Curiousity was quite evident to her, curious to see if there was anyone else about. Anyone worth her time anyway.

As if.

"Quiet." She muttered under her breath, percariously perched on a rather wobbly branch though she didn't seem to take much notice of it if at all. Carefully she'd allow her gaze to wander, making sure she was not being followed. Nothing.

At least there was nothing around yet, it probably wouldn't stay that way for long. Silence and peace never did.

((Edited because mun's an idiot and can't think at one in the morning.))

Off in the distance upon the crest of a hill, a small figure becomes gradually visible. Wearing a tattered gi with a rope for a belt and wooden sandals, one might think that he was just some homeless bum.. if they didn't see his powerful, carefully crafted physique and those burning red eyes.

He grew closer with a steady, tireless pace; from the dust on him, he'd probably been doing this for awhile. He gradually reached the beginnings of the preserved wildlands, never having deviated his path to follow the roads; unpaved surfaces were his preferences, anyway. Striking out under the trees and ever deeper into the wilderness, he found a glade to his liking and began to set up a temporary dwelling.

Thinking to himself about the upcoming tournament... he looked forward to the possibilities.
