Noon. Perfect time to wander through the preserve on the outskirts of the area, not too dark. Meaning she wouldn't have to worry.

A small smile crossed over Mai's lips, taking to a tree and taking a higher route through it. Curiousity was quite evident to her, curious to see if there was anyone else about. Anyone worth her time anyway.

As if.

"Quiet." She muttered under her breath, percariously perched on a rather wobbly branch though she didn't seem to take much notice of it if at all. Carefully she'd allow her gaze to wander, making sure she was not being followed. Nothing.

At least there was nothing around yet, it probably wouldn't stay that way for long. Silence and peace never did.

That got a small snicker from her, moving a bit to try and use him to lean up against. "Mm? I never said it was a ruse. Did I make it seem as such?"

Is his arm going around her? Is that arm actually curving arou.. No, it's just being placed behind her, to provide some support for him, as he is being leaned against. But it's a start!

"It still is hard for me to grasp that someone might be interested in me for anything but my skills."

He's a little mentally uncomfortable with the whole physical contact thing, but it remains quite nice. Hmm. Was this part of her plan? It probably was..

Indeed, a rather interesting start at that. Not that she minded, no, no.

"You'll get used to it eventually. Maybe if you didn't act like a hermit... there'd be more willing to take a different look at you." And she was dead serious and no, no plan behind it, yet.

He's not about to miraculously change, after all. He doesn't regret a single speck of what he's done, and means to continue his path.. nothing is more important than his training. But if he could manage to spend enjoyable time with Mai as well, that certainly wouldn't be so bad..

"Some things are good about them, however." Though she couldn't think of much that really was good about them.

She didn't think he would change anyway, though she had her own little ideas for how to fix that. She could... use training anyway, really. She was getting a bit lazy.

Sigh. "So I have been told." That arm behind her? It's coming a little bit closer to going around her, now. Isn't that curious?

Of course, is it really something that needs to be fixed? And he wouldn't mind working with her on that, he's considering trying to train up worthy opponents instead of just letting them be shaped by the outside world.

Worked for his master Goutetsu, didn't it?

"I never have.." Well, yeah, as he's never been in a city for anything but finding opponents, even as a child. Very big on the self-sufficient life, Akuma. Also, his thumb is touching her hip. This probably means more to him than to her, and likely to be the absolute farthest he goes.

"You should visit one sometime... It is quite interesting if just that." If that was as far as he'd go then she'd take the initiative. Which, then, included moving a bit to nuzzle at his neck, hard, sure, but she'd try anyway.

"Certainly provides an interesting backdrop for some battles, but it.. blares." Everything grabbing at your attention, neon signs, noisy babble and car horns, afloat in a sea of distractions.. is she nuzzling at his neck? She is NUZZLING AT HIS NECK!

Rather a stiff neck, lots of corded muscle and clearly visible veins, but it's fairly obvious that he's enjoying it a great deal. "Mmmhrmm.."

He got a grip on himself. "You are welcome to shelter under my roof, if you wish it. I can always return to the cave I used before."

Who knew he was so generous?

It's softening a little as he gets used to the idea, though we are still speaking of a very tough neck. And thumb is now gently brushing over her hip! Encouragement does things like that.
